Purple Rain, Liddington is an open edition fine art giclée print of an original oil painting by Sean Monaghan, an outdoor painter based in North Wiltshire. Painted on location on the Ridgeway near Liddington Castle as a summer storm approached, the study is focused on the sky — purple-grey cloud building and darkening above the open downland, the ancient landscape small and quiet beneath it. The painting was made quickly on site, the direct brushwork capturing the moment before the rain arrived. The artwork is Giclée printed on Enhanced Matte Art paper — a 200gsm fine art stock with a natural matt finish.
