Towards Swindon, After Sunset I is an open edition fine art giclée print of an original watercolour painting by Sean Monaghan, an outdoor painter based in North Wiltshire. Painted on location looking north from the Ridgeway across the Vale of White Horse towards Swindon after the sun had set, the sky wide and cooling off. The study is painted mostly wet-on-wet, the trees and hedgerow added in when the paper was touch dry. It is the first of two watercolours painted in the same session at this spot; the companion piece, Towards Swindon, After Sunset II, follows the light a few minutes further into the evening.
